- The global dis:connect research centre, which is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, examines the dynamic, co-constitutive relationship of global integration, absent connections and disintegration in current and historical processes of globalisation.

- By investigating global dis:connections, we are inaugurating a new field of research. It emphasises the role of delays and detours, of interruptions and resistances, of the active absence of connections in global contexts and investigates their social significance.

- The cornerstone of global dis:connect is the fellowship programme, in which approximately ten scholars come to Munich each year. They research dis:connectivity on site and in close contact with the directors and their peers. Fellows also have the opportunity to host workshops on the topics of their research.

Burcu Dogramaci speaks on exile

On 3 September, Burcu Dogramaci, art historian and one of the Kolleg’s directors, co-delivered a lecture at the Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für Exilforschung at the NS-Dokumentationszentrum in Munich. Bernhard Schär joins global dis:connect as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow

We are very happy to report that today, global historian Bernhard Schär (formerly ETH Zurich) joins our Kolleg as Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow.
